This place is live.
We hit the road from Houston to New Orleans a bit later into the day Monday so we could squeeze in a visit to mom and grandma before hitting the road.
We finally rolled in at 1:30AM to the Nopsi Hotel

We both felt an immense sense of relief upon entering the hotel. It was clean, gorgeously decorated, and beautiful.
We had found this place on Super.com, a new site to find deals on hotels.
This site literally cut our price from 800+ dollars to only 300 ish dollars.
Literally incredible (And I am NOT paid to say this). Like, do yourself a favor and use Super.
Anyways, we immediately passed out. In the morning we hit the mean streets of NOLA in search of beignets (well Jack was, Danny didn’t know if their existence yet).

We got a batch from Cafe Beignet on Canal St and immediately Danny fell in love.

Then Danny Taco and I perused down to Bourbon St. Jack hadn’t seen it since childhood and just WOW was it live!
We saw a lot of open containers as well as other legally ambiguous activities. Seemed like everyone had one goal in mind: to get as shlitzed as quickly as possible.
We stopped for beignets at two more cafes:

And of course you can’t visit NOLA without getting some gumbo!

We opted for the Olde Nola Cookery’s gumbo on bourbon street and we were not sorry about it.
After we checked in, we hit the road across the state to the next town we felt like staying in. On the way, we found something we didn’t expect to see on the Irish Bayou: a castle?

It’s is called the Fisherman’s Castle in the Irish Bayou.
Created in the 80s, it was built to be part of the world’s fair in Louisiana. At one point it was decorated on the inside with full suits of armor, tapestries and lavish medieval rugs.
So yeah, obviously we did a shoot.

After that, we were on our way.
